Is Winter ever going to end?
It was nice out for a couple of days here in mid Michigan, and I got out and did a little hauling of some scrap metal for a friend that does not have a truck. It was so nice to get out of the house and do something different. Now I am here a few days later and sick, my head is stuffed up and my throat is sore. And it’s raining and snowing outside, just lovely. If I did not own my gaming systems and games I don’t know what I’d do, at least I can play some games while I sit in the house and try to stay warm. But even games get old after a while and this winter has been a long one for me. I know some of you might be reading this and be saying or thinking “Get a frickin job loser!” but it’s just not that easy. I am disabled and on disability and there are not a lot of jobs that I could do in my current condition. I wont go into it right now, but I am limited in what I can comfortably do. So I spend my days and nights trying to figure out a new career choice for myself. I do want to get back into “Web Design” I have some schooling in it, but I really need some more classes and that’s another story. So I play games, and think about maybe learning to get into game design. The thing is I need to do something where I don’t have to stand or sit too long in one spot or lift heavy objects because of my back. But then I have other issues besides my back. Anyway I am really wanting to do something on the computer because I like it and I have an inclination for it. But I either must get some money or a grant to go back to school, or try to teach myself what I need to know and hope I can make a career out of that. Oh I am just so tired of thinking and trying to come up with a way to do what I need to do and winter just drags on and on and the more I think the more I get confused and the more I think, oh god just stop I am going crazy! This winter is really taking it’s toll on me and I need a change of pace. Hopefully when spring comes I can get out of the house and do some walking/hiking to get back into shape a little and let the open air and woods clear my mind, and help me formulate a plan on my next move on the path of life. Wow that feels good to just write down all that, I am learning why some people have blogs. This is kind of therapeutic to just put it all down for me and anyone else to see. I just might get something out of this long cold winter and all the thinking and figuring about what I should do next with my life. So I guess I feel good at the moment, but I still cant wait until winter is over and spring comes! Well I think I am going to go make me some dinner and then maybe play me a little “Assassin’s Creed: Altair’s Chronicles” on my NDS, or maybe “Orcs & Elves” or maybe “God of War: Chains of Olympus” or “Jeanne D’Arc” on my PSP or “God of War” on the PS2 or maybe just go frickin crazy!!! Oh come on Spring!

Nice Blog. I like the layout you used. Did you make that yourself?

I’m much the same way, looking for a career but drifting aimlessly in the attempt. I keep trying to find the right path for me and I guess the main thing is that I don’t give up hope.
In the meantime I’ll keep playing Chains of Olympus. If every PSP game was this good the handheld wars would be a bit more evenly matched right now!
BTW, how is Altair’s Chronicles and Orcs & Elves so far? I think I’m keen on O&A, it has an old school feel about it like Hexen or Elder Scrolls Arena, just unsure how well the control scheme works for it.
Wow my first comment!
I am sure that we will both find our way like you said just don’t give up hope, ya gotta have hope. Altair’s Chronicles and Orcs & Elves are great, I think you will really get into both of them. The control scheme for O&E I think works well, you can use the buttons or the touch screen to control your movement. I use the buttons more than the touch screen for most everything, but the touch screen works well also and yes it is old school in the way that it plays and looks. Altair’s Chronicles is cool, and I use the buttons for most everything except the puzzles in which case you must use the stylus. All in all I think both games are good. I have become stuck in Chains of Olympus I wonder if you could give me a hint? I am at the spot where Kratos can grab hold of like 3 different “arms” and then push them but when he lets go they return to the start position. There is also a long bridge walkway if you leave this spot that goes towards a large “face” statue type thing. Near the “arms” there is also a “dial” like thing in the floor that I think must work with the “arms” if you could please help me out as I don’t know where to go next. Thanks
UPDATE: Well I have figured out where to go from the “Steed Shrine” I just kept going past the shrine and went to the face and there is a wall to climb. I climbed the wall and well was on my way. I found this out by going to some “walkthroughs” on the web and was told by them to just pass it for now and I will come back to it later.
